Meet Barton E. Jones

Barton E Jones is the creator of the upcoming series The Living Ledger, which kicks off with his debut novella, The Symmetry of Silence.

A veteran of the United States Army, he initially turned to the blank page as a way to navigate and heal the lingering scars of his service. Through the steady, intentional discipline of his craft, he discovered a profound truth: while certain chapters of our past can never be undone or rewritten, true peace begins by anchoring ourselves to the things we can shape today—no matter how fragile that grasp might feel.

His storytelling invites readers into expansive, immersive worlds, fueled by a lifelong devotion to every flavor of science fiction and fantasy. These narratives are richly colored by his own travels, as well as the early, guiding influence of his mother—a high school English teacher who instilled in him a deep appreciation for all things knightly and noble.

When he isn’t weaving his next chapter, you can usually find him soaking up the heat in the nearest sauna or getting his steps in on the treadmill, happily lost in a great audiobook.
